Objective:

The MMS program is a comprehensive post Graduate Degree Programmer that aims to develop students into innovative thinkers and successful managers by sharpening their skills to meet the exact requirements of the business

Course Structure:

The MMS is a two year program, organized around four semesters, spread across two years. To help bring all students to a common and level playing field, DSIMS offers a two week long Boot Camp that focuses on basics of Finance, Quantitative Techniques, Communication Skills, Use of office productivity tools like Excel, Word and Power Point. The Boot camp orients the students to the case based learning methodology and the efficient use of internet for secondary data in research. The course is trifurcated into three categories - A core set of 22 courses, Majors - a set of five to seven subjects in the specialization area and a set of three to four electives within each specialization. The first two semesters in year one are based on a structured series of 22 core courses. These courses cover key management disciplines, and the business ecosystem. To become a global manager, students can choose a foreign language as a part of their curriculum. The second year of the program has two components. A core of five to seven courses relevant to each specialization and a set of three to four electives focusing on deep domain expertise.

Eligibility:

A candidate should have either passed with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of backward class candidate from Maharashtra State) or appeared at the final year examination in any bachelors degree common entrance test (CRT).

Selection Procedure:

The selection procedure for MMS program is divided in three phases:
All candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria have to undergo a three tire selection procedure Consisting of common entrance test (MH CET), a group discussion (GD) and a personal interview (PI). Pedagogy:

Teaching methods at the KIMSR lectures, case studies, seminars, group discussions, Business games, role plays, simulation exercises, structured and unstructured group work as may be needed by a specific topic. The emphasis is on involving the students in learning and helping them to relate concepts and theories to business requirements of the energy and infra structure sector. As added advantages, the learning provided at KIMSR is not only restricted to the classroom but also through field visits summer internship, independent study courses and constant interaction with industry personnel.

Case Studies:

The teaching and learning process at KIMSR mainly focuses on case study method which includes a dynamic process of exchanging perspectives, countering and defending point and building ideas that improves students understanding and expose to decision-making process in a complex business environment , case studies are chosen from different industries to start with and then gradually focused on business aspects of core sector , as the program progresses.

Summer Internship:

Summer internship is a major component of the learning process at KIMSR the end of second semester, all students are required to undergo summer internship of eight weeks with companies, financial institutions. IT and infrastructure majors managements consultancies. On successful completion of the training, a student is required to make a presentation and submit a written report for valuation, the formal assessment and feedback of industry guides are also taken into consideration for overall evolution of summer projects.

Group Projects:

Working with talented and accomplished peers provides a unique opportunity for accelerated professional and personal growth, group projects, a major component of most courses, help students to not only to work in diverse groups. The groups are formed from pools of varied disciplines, backgrounds. Corporate experience and career orientations to leverage the enormous diversity in perspectives. The projects are designed in such a manner that the entire class benefits with coverage of multifarious aspects of management education with minimum overlapping and duplication.

Course of Independent Study:

A self motivation student can also take up a course of independent study under the guidance of a faculty and learn a specific topic of interest in the field of management studies.
